Health Coach Tip - Where's the Fiber

We love a lower carbohydrate diet at Eleven Eleven Wellness Center - low carb equals low sugar and low sugar is very important for overall health. With some patients we even experiment with a completely grain free diet! One of the most often asked questions when we put someone on a grain free diet (after “What am I going to eat for breakfast?”) is “Where will my fiber come from? Should I take a supplement?”
Fiber is actually found in many plant foods, not just grains, and you can easily get enough through eating a variety of whole foods every day, even if you are on a lower carbohydrate plan. You will find fiber in fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and beans.
