Health Coach Tip - Rethink Breakfast

We are big fans of a low carbohydrate diet. While every person can handle a different amount of carbohydrates, overdoing it can contribute to a host of symptoms that are driven by inflammation – fatigue after meals, brain fog, constant hunger or cravings for sweets, skin rashes, plus chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
A common (panicky) question we get when helping people transition to a lower carb diet is “What am I going to eat for breakfast?!”
The days of traditional pancakes, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, and lots of fruit are over! But you don’t need to give up breakfast foods to stay healthy. Here are some great alternatives:
Savory (Your New Staples)
- Loaded Paleo Hash
- Crustless Quiche
- Shakshuka
- Huevos Rancheros (with a grain-free tortilla)
- Breakfast Burrito Bowl
- Omelette (nothing new here!)
- Breakfast Salad
- Cauliflower Hash Browns
Sweet (Better Occasionally)
- Nuts, Seeds and Coconut Granola
- Grain-Free Pancakes
- Almond Zucchini Bread
- Protein Shake (you can have a shake more often if it suits you!)
