Daffodils, forsythia, crocuses -- they are, for most of us, those first harbingers of spring. The start of blooming season is usually a hopeful sight and an uplifting reminder that the cold dark days of winter are on the wane. But not everyone greets the new season with open arms.
I love herbs and spices, not only for their flavors but also for their medicinal effects. And if I had to pick one health all-star, it would have to be turmeric, the spice born of the curcuma longa plant that gives curries their rich golden yellow color.
